My name is Becki Olseen, and I am thrilled to be joining the Trio Wolf Creek team. Since graduating from Northwestern College of Iowa with my Bachelor’s in History and Secondary Education, I have worked in a variety of settings, ranging from a rural Mississippi school to an urban Minneapolis charter program. I have also applied my love of history and government to managing a successful state senate campaign and working for two U.S. representatives. Outside of the classroom, I
enjoy photography, theatre, and volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club.

As an educator, I believe that teaching stretches far beyond a classroom wall and curriculum. I embrace a holistic teaching philosophy that builds on students’ strengths, addresses challenges in their lives—academic and personal, and unites the broader community (parents, administrative staff, community members and organizations) in empowering our next
generation to achieve their goals and dreams.

Martin Luther King Jr said, “Intelligence plus character, that is the true goal of education.”  Thank you for the opportunity to work toward this goal as part of Wolf Creek.
